Far too much - try an independent at that mileage. Just because you're offended doesn't mean you're right.

Yes, I've used two independents locally but one just quoted 3hrs @ 95/hr + VAT! At that sort of rate I'm wondering if a dealer wold be a better bet...

A dealer would probably charge 3 hours at £150 +VAT per hour. Plus parts, plus an exorbitant amount to dispose of your old oil.

All while you wait in an air conditioned show room, enjoying a coffee, the daily papers, television and a comfortable arm chair or, possibly, a brand new courtesy vehicle. All work carried out using genuine parts, complete with 12 month unlimited mileage warranty.
You pays your money and takes your choices. I had a 110 dealer serviced at 6000 miles, in 1994 and that cost £400+vat It is not a Defender, it is a One_Ten |

I would never use a main dealer again in my life. Too many bad experiences, intact I'm yet to have a good experience.
Independent garage without a doubt. They can still use genuine parts!! |

What's involved in a 132k service?

And you can sit and drink posh coffee while they get the apprentice to do your service as quickly and cheaply as possible.
Do it yourself and save yourself a fortune, that way it’s done by somebody who actually cares. |
