The extra length tends to give a smoother ride in a 110. John

Also... I've added a few things to mine such as A Bar and some lights and light protectors etc. Is it possible to transfer these? Or does this leave scars on the old one I don't want to be leaving?

Should be possible unless they've been fixed in a strange way?
The 110 is smoother but has a wider turning circle for car parks etc. It's never too early if you can afford to make the change so do it...you'll love the 100 I'm sure. She's not old...just older |

Lots of people say the 110 is smoother due to the wheelbase, but actually i find the opposite when compared to my 90. the 110 is wallowy, long, boring and bumpy in comparison to mine. The mods on mine are OME nitro shocks and iron man "b" springs.

Hi all, I've recently aquired a 110 utility xs. It's my first defender but it's just great! Have driven a 90 and yes the ride is very different! Have 2 young children and 3 dogs
, the utility is perfect ! |

I love the look of the 90 but its very impractical if you have a family. Access to rear seats is tricky for child seats, the boot area has to be kept clear and there's not a lot of room. In fact our previous tiny Jimny was more family friendly! Ride is choppier on the 90 too - we had a new one on 24 hour test. The 90 has advantages off road though, a bit better on fuel and a more classic look. Defender 110XS SW gone... now VW California 180 4 Motion.

Welcome to the forum "Markieboy" Couldn't be in a better place with a Defender with hundreds of miles of off-roading wilds in Poland! |

I would be looking to do a part-exchange, where would be the best place to get a quote on how much mine is worth now? 2009 model with 32000. Would it be best to find a 110 I like and then swap with that dealer?

Depends what the deal is, it would be financially better to sell yours privately of course but if convenience is a higher factor then yes trade it in against one you like
Valuing a Defender can be tricky but if you take say 20-25 prices of examples like yours currently for sale you will get a good realistic average figure Drop maybe 2K for trade adverts! |

Why swap, just get the second one and you'll be happier ever after on all occasions. Never forget: cars have owner, Landrover have field service personnel.

Money would still be expected to change hands in the dealer's favour. I too have a 90, have family and up until recently had to 'manage' carefully the limited 'real-estate' in the rear of my 90. I suppose it is down to personal choice but when I was loaned a 110 I initially thought how wonderful it was. But with my usage that included careful navigation round dockyards, school runs (working nights in the Summer), shopping centre and beach side parking during the holiday season I found having the turning circle of an oil tanker and the extra length a bit of a bain. If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!! Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!! |
