Ireland 2011 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 CSW Stornoway Grey
booked our first overland trip
er.. sort of

when we pick up the Defender in a couple of weeks the missus has decided that we're going to go to her mum and dads in London in it for a week in August.
So its right across Ireland, ferry, A5, M54, M6, M1, M25, A127 to Upminster where it will meet up with the in-law's 90CSW.
Bit of a baptism of fire but I'll definately know if I'll need noisekiller and seat risers after that. Atleast I shouldn't be able to hear the kids arguing in the back !

No need for noise killer but if you're over 5'8" you'll be fitting Mudrails when you get back!!

seat rails are easy enough to make for a few £

I'm exactly 6 ft and with every previous car I have always had the seat height right up to max and just left it there. I see Paddocks do a simple metal bar affair for £ 35 that just bolts on although it isn't that adjustable compared to the dearer one with the small levers at each end - can't remember what its called but I see it on Exmoors site. Cushions don't work as they alter the ergonomic set up of the seat and result in a sore back and numb legs

It's rare that being 5'8 (and a half)" is useful but for Landy driving with a surfboard strapped over your head, it's ideal Wink Laughing Defender 110XS SW gone... now VW California 180 4 Motion.

What do Mudrails do. I'm only 6' but have no problem with room, my seat is one notch away from being right back Confused

Great way to run her in Rossy Thumbs Up

The give you about another 3 inches of seat travel.
