I might have a pair in the garage , I will a root around this morning.
Having searched the garage and S.H.M.B.O. asking what I was looking for turns out she has thrown a cardboard box out which contained the headlights amongst other bits. Don't make old people mad. We don't like being old in the first place, so it doesn't take much to us off. Richard Last edited by ARC99 on 23rd Nov 2019 1:33pm. Edited 1 time in total |

OK, so here they are.
They are 'wipacs', but the OEM ones and not the clear-lensed crystal ones. No bother at all Clayton. I must admit that I thought these would be the original ones for your truck. I"m pretty sure they are the original ones for my wagon, unless they had to be replaced for some reason in the few years before I bought it.
What brand/model were yours? I remember buying Quadoptics as the upgrade of the day for a Series III in the early 90's and I'm sure they were standard fit to new models then. Clayton, if yours had anything else fitted then it's very unlikely that they were the originals. Darren

Thank you George and Darren for your reply's
Why i'm asking is that what i can't understand is that " if " i had the wipac's quads fitted before the crystals went in, that the headlights were really good, i could see in front off Millie a decent way but the wipac crystals were a no go for me could not see very far in front off Millie, so i have fitted some wipac quads in again and they are a little better than the crystals but not as good as what i had in, in the first place This is of course on dipped beam 1996 Golf Blue 300Tdi 110 Pick up. Sounds like you could do with a relay loom and some upgrade bulbs...

Agree with Notyalc, sounds very much like you have a power issue to the lights. I had similar and route cause was the headlight switch deteriorating. I ended up with Wipac crystals, Osram nightbreaker bulbs and made up my own relay loom to remove the load from the switch.
