I’m thinking about adding the white roof.

Like the look of that....! retro but 'current' IMO - but my MY16 D4 HSE with Lux wheels and many extras still seems too good to give up..... for something with ability I would probably never need (much like my D4 - to be honest).....

It does look good on that image. However, does not look like it is value for money. I think that’s what will make an issue for JLR!

Afraid I've had the Stealer refund my deposit.
Went to see it at Lode Lane launch in October and whilst I'm sure it's a good car, until I see the Commercial variant I'll remain convinced that JLR have lost their way with New Defender. As others have said, it's the D4 that should have been. Now hoping that Project Grenadier lives up to the hype.. 2011 2.4 White 110 CSW LHD 1998 300TDi Wolf TUM 2015 2.2 Corris Grey 90 2009 2.4 Alaska White 110 Commercial - gone 2006 TD5 Barolo Black 90 - gone 1995 TD5 Green 90 - gone 1984 2.25 Marine Blue 88 |

Out of curiosity, I wonder how many deposits have been taken and who banks the interest on the monies paid?
What happens if the dealer ceases trading? Are the deposits held in escrow or is it tough luck if the dealer goes belly up? |

Yeah a real issue. I gave my grand to Stratstone LR in Aylesbury about a year ago. They recently ceased trading there. Lookers Bucks have bought them out and initially told me to ask Stratstone in Cardiff for the money. They refused as it was a 'Live Deposit' and thus part of the assets of the business, so after several emails Lookers finally coughed up. More of a hassle than it should have been.. 2011 2.4 White 110 CSW LHD

I went to the launch night in Bristol last week. The 110 they had there was very nice, I know the business manager and sales manager very well and had a good long chat with them about the utility and apparently it's not due until 2021. So a bit of a wait, but if I have enough in my business by then, I'll chop my current 110 USW in for a new Defender. 110 D250 SE HT 110 USW SOLD RRE HSE Dynamic Gone, wife killed it VOLVO XC60 R Dynamic with some toys Polaris RZR 900XP SOLD |

At least you’re halfway there, I can’t even configure one yet. The joys of opting for a 90.

I like the way it looks - worlds better than my existing D5 TDV6 - and plan on ordering a new 110 this Spring. I have a deposit down already at my local dealer. The big problem for me is that there are no plans for a diesel version in the US.
My diesel D5 has been a fabulous daily driver/road trip car and that is the role I'll expect a new Defender to fill in my driveway. I gave a Tdi powered Defender 90 and two old Series IIA's for the heavy off road exploring but I expect the new Defender will be perfectly suited to most of the off highway routes I want to explore in most of the USA. I've put over 32,000 miles on my Discovery in the past 2-1/2 years and except for a minor issue or two its been faultless. Yes it will be expensive but even fully optioned out to HSE spec with ALL of the off road accessories (except for the external purse) it will still cost less than my Discovery 5 did. I like that its narrower than the Discovery, has a real shift lever instead of a knob and a rear door instead of a hatch that can (and will) bonk you on the head. This isn't going anywhere - except on the rough tracks where I won't drive a new vehicle anyway... Click image to enlarge |

Here is what I’m hoping mine looks like.
Reminds me very much of my old D3 If it performs any where near that both on road and off I will be very happy indeed. Click image to enlarge DEFENDER XS CSW 08 TONGA GREEN |
