Sounds very much like a CV joint on the way out, I'm afraid. Darren

Yeah, relatively easy. I'd guess at a three spanner job in the Haynes manual. Darren

Had a free moment to check the clicking noise, after jacking the landy up and taking the wheel off i spun the brake disk and the brake pad closest to the outside of the car was moving up and down hitting the top and bottom of the caliper. So maybe i have found the cause of the clicking i will have to monitor it for now.
Plus the landy doesnt do much mileage and spends most of a week if not all week at times parked in its container so not fully in a rush to fix it and if it isnt the CV joint then it will be a cheaper fix, also been told by SWMBO to make sure its running pretty reliably before the little one is born..... i have till the beginning of February so plenty of time 1995 Land Rover Discovery 300tdi - Sold 1989 Land Rover 90 - Rebuilding/built - its a project 2002 Land Rover Discovery TD5 - Sold 2017 Mini JCW F56 - Current Daily Driver |

You said " plenty of time "
That will go quicker than you think so don't waste the time you have at the moment with the 90 to sort out the issue's 1996 Golf Blue 300Tdi 110 Pick up. Keeper. Clayton. |

Yep only 11 weeks to go "plenty of time" ....... and its at the time of year where its lovely and cold outside so numb fingers whilst working on the 90. Luckily there isnt much left to sort out. If the rattle is the brake pads moving i can live with that, if its the CV Joint then i may just send it to my mechanic to fix. I have a couple of bits to sort out in the cab area and trace just one little drip the rest of the water drips/leaks have been sorted The rest of what i want to do will have to be put on pause for a little while. Such as buying bigger tyres and off set wheels to fill the arches out and a roll cage they are 2 of the big budget items. 1995 Land Rover Discovery 300tdi - Sold 1989 Land Rover 90 - Rebuilding/built - its a project 2002 Land Rover Discovery TD5 - Sold 2017 Mini JCW F56 - Current Daily Driver |

Over due update - Cant believe it has been 8 months since i last posted on here. Time is flying by.
Hope everyone is staying safe with all that is going on in the world at the moment. The 90 hasnt been doing anything for the last 6 months due to the arrival of the little one. she is now 6 months old and has probably seen about 10 people in person.I think she believes everyone must live through a screen as she see's everyone on face time Last week was the first time i went to the container and pulled the 90 out, it shocked me when it started on the first turn of the key. took it for a spin around the yard as it has run out of MOT and it is now on SORN for the while, But i dont think it will have any issues passing its MOT when it goes for one next as it has only done 80 miles since its last one The only slight issue is an oil drip that is coming from the sump area so will have to check that out at some point. No photos with this update unfortunately but on the next post i hope to have some photos of the old 90 to upload 1995 Land Rover Discovery 300tdi - Sold 1989 Land Rover 90 - Rebuilding/built - its a project 2002 Land Rover Discovery TD5 - Sold 2017 Mini JCW F56 - Current Daily Driver |

Well been a massive jump from when i have last updated this thread. Nothing much has happened really since previous update apart from turning up one morning to my unit where i store my 90 and finding some (lets say undesirables) had broken in and stole some of my tools and also tried to steal the 90 but failed. They have removed my speaker and thn tried to hot wire it by the looks of it along with cutting a number of wires, looks like as they failed in the cab they have also gone under the bonnet and ripped wires out in the engine bay as well.
Just what i wanted so now got the pain staking task of figuring out the wiring to sort out or do i go for a re-wire Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge 1995 Land Rover Discovery 300tdi - Sold 1989 Land Rover 90 - Rebuilding/built - its a project 2002 Land Rover Discovery TD5 - Sold 2017 Mini JCW F56 - Current Daily Driver |
