They’re different for a reason - the rear brakes are balanced for a lower braking force.

I have 4pots on my 90. Would not advise it, even with a bias valve it is very nervous in the wet! 02' 110 TD5 Double Cab Rebuild Thread

My old '84 90 van would lock up its rear brakes when empty - and that was with drums on the back axle!

I fitted them with the intention of using them for fiddle brakes but might end up changing back to 2-pot calipers.

You can fit 02 onwards Defender 110 rear calipers and discs, they are just slightly larger.

I have a 110 brake setup on my 90. Really good stopping power but still well balanced 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon

George - what's the difference between the 90 and 110 set up - and how ease is it to upgrade ?
I have never been happy with my 90s brakes and almost rear ended a car in Knowle today |

Firstly, check your brake servo! Mine was cracked and leaking atmosphere into the vaccum.
Easy bolt on swap, vented fronts are the same between 90 and 110. ref fiddles, I ran 110 rear calipers, twin pot as stud, with inline fiddles, worked well. in fact front locker and fiddles and it went alot of places.
