I've owned my '92 200tdi 110 since 2014, I was lucky to find a genuine low mileage one, I bought it with 15k on the clock and it's sat at 38k at the moment.
I rebuilt it in 2015/16 and converted it from a 3 door van body to a 5 door CSW on a Richards galvanised chassis, with new bulkhead, galvanised b posts, the works. Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge I love it. But, you know that feeling you get when you think you want something different? I've always fancied a 130 DCPU and in the next couple of years I'm hoping to start building my own home so it would definitely come in handy.... I suppose I could look at a 110 DCPU, but then I might as well go the whole hog and get a 130 right? I'm probably just having a moment, but I'd appreciate your opinions either way... 1985 127 V8 Build Thread Series 2 109" Series 1 80" |

Objectively, given its' condition and what you've invested in it, you'd be mad to sell it. I did a similar thing with a Discovery some years ago and have regretted it ever since. However, I do appreciate the lure of a new project... Darren

I should have added a "keep the 110" option to the poll, oops...
My 110 only has 5 seats fitted, I use the load area too much to warrant the seats in the back, I figure they're pretty risky for road use anyway. I know I'd miss the seats if I went 110 Hicap, I'd also have trouble squeezing in as I'm 6"5 and have to have the seat pretty much in the lap of any passengers in the rear as it is I probably am mad, but can't help but be attracted to having 5 seats AND one hell of a load space. I also quite like the idea of being able to drop a box onto the back with all the camping gear, roof tent etc like the Aussie Land Cruisers. I definitely can't afford or justify running two 110s sadly. I suppose the other thing to consider is the value of the 110 vs the cost of a similar 130.... 1985 127 V8 Build Thread Series 2 109" Series 1 80" |

I'd say selling the 110 to buy... another 110 is broadly pointless, you won't actually gain much, if anything, in functionality!
130's are great, but it sounds like you've put a lot of time and money into the 110 to get it the way you want. I'd buy a trailer... |

I think I'll go look at a few 130s, theres no doubt that a transit tipper or a trailer would be more practical. But would they be as cool? 1985 127 V8 Build Thread

I have the same 130 itch, for a double cab with hicap rear body. Cheers

A DCPU, certainly a 110 version, isn’t all that practical in my opinion. I thought it would be, so got rid of my 90 for one, but it’ does all the stuff, but nothing well. Now got a 110 utility, and it is a far more practical vehicle.
I would advise swapping yours across to a utility, and keeP your trailer. Best of all the possibilities. |

Another vote to keep your 110 and convert to USW and maybe another trailer that being a tipper or useful box!

Technically,(legally) what is your 110 classified as now? HT, CSW, CSW utility? . If it's still a HT, but with csw body, it will limit its resale value, unless you've changed log book? 'Volvo XC 70, taking the rough with the smooth’

I have considered converting the 110 to USW, it's still on the cards but I think I might have to follow my heart on this one
I told the DVLA when I swapped the body on the 110 and they updated the details accordingly, so it's all good on that front 1985 127 V8 Build Thread Series 2 109" Series 1 80" |
