In the meantime I emailed J.W. Speaker about this and got a prompt reply. This is what they answered to my question what happens if I do not connect the blue wire for the DRL function. “ Yes the heating function will still work just fine. The heater is not controlled by one of the wires. It functions on its own whenever the low or high beam is turned on.”
So all good. Intend to order the lights next week when back from travels.

got a set of the ORGINALS in one of the 110's. These were when they were £1800 a pair. Perks of working for Tim back in the day , doing the shows and exhibitions. They are still going well and still bright as ever.... Putting Dreams on Drives at JLR Solihull..

Sorry about the quality. Taken in the garage. Let me know if you want more pics. These are “side lights” plus the existing side lights (these had LEDs fitted).

Where did you buy yours from in the UK? I can only find them at the mobilecentre for £1002. The wife wants a pair for her 90.

Hi John P,

These folks https://tmdtuning.com/shop/smartheat-headl...-burn-drl/

They are in Sussex so local to you and would be able to install as well.

This chap was very helpful: paul@thethatchedgarage.com

Took a while before I went ahead, but a set of these heated Speaker EVO2 Dual Burn just landed at our house. Found a Swiss supplier. Will be installed next week. The original candles will go back in storage for the time being, who knows, maybe for a long time.

Ray, 2nd time you ask that question here in this thread Laughing A man may change his mind about his toys, yes?
We’ll see how I like them. One thing is for sure, the original SVX Wipac Cristals with better halogen bulbs are fine, certainly with the SVX dual high beam setup, but I expect these Speakers to be a real revelation as to the low beam crisp illumination of the side of the road and tunnel walls. That improvement is what I’m most interested in. We will see next week.

Well, the new LED headlights are on, the original Wipac Cristals go into storage. Very pleased with the looks of these Speakers as the visible heating elements take the attention away from the pretty tech looking lenses. Did not connect the blue wire for the DRL as I have these already in the bumper. On the way home from the dealer passed a few long tunnels close to the airport, that was enough to confirm that low beam is a multiple strength of the Wipac Cristals, even with the better H4 bulbs, and the light pattern of these Speaker is very good without dark spots and with a crisp sideways beam lighting up tunnel walls. Very happy that in the end I did this.
