![]() Click image to enlarge Thought I'd introduce myself with a picture of my Epson 90CSW with new wheels fitted. Decided to bite the bullet and get a set of 5 x 18'' VBS Nemesis wrapped in BFG T/A KO2s, as the boost alloys for some reason still had the original 17yr old tyres fitted with a massive amount of tread, but totally perished!! I must say that I am very impressed with the look, think I may have to lower the suspension 1 to 2 inches to make them look perfect, what are the thoughts on this?? Already fitted a set of clear LED lights all around and will probably match those with crystal mains. I recently purchased the roof rack off ebay for £440 and have fitted a set of new late Defender heated leather sports seats also from ebay. It has been in the paint shop for a couple of weeks getting various patches of corrosion re-painted on the alu sections. Over the next few months I have a list of things to get done, namely: 1. fit new door seals throughout 2. replace the seal under the windscreen surround, as this is allowing gallons of water in! 3. fit my genuine steering guard (ebay again) in the process of getting the necessary fixing bolts ordered....what a pain! 4. buy some side steps (fire & ice type) and get them fitted. 5. fit my black checker plate to wings, cills and rear quarters. 6. buy and fit a new LED bumper (mine is bent) 7. clean down, treat and paint rust to outer door frame under where the rubber creases! And at some time in the future, clean down and re-paint rear cross member, fit an Allisport Intercooler, get an Alive re-map. Quite surprising how the bills mount up, and you end up with a very expensive 17 year old car ![]() This is my 3rd Defender, having previously owner a high mile 90CSW tdi 300 and a few years ago a 90CSW Tomb Raider with 60K. I intend to keep this one a bit longer, it only has 60K miles, so should be good for quite a long time as it is a second car ![]() I'll post the occasional photo and will beg help from the experts on this site from time to time. Cheers, Nick ![]() Click image to enlarge Last edited by NIBrown on 7th Nov 2019 5:38pm. Edited 1 time in total |

Cheers for the advice, already bought the seals, all genuine, but didn’t get the Puma seals unfortunately 😕 Crumbs , the main door seals were expensive!! |

Remove the old door seals on the body gently from the bottom. You will probably find them stuck at one or two spots to mastic and tape on body seams. Refit starting at a top corner, across the top and then down. Apply tension at the waist bends to ensure that the new seal doesn’t kink. The door seals are handed left and right, and finally you will probably need to adjust the door strikers to get a good fit.
I have found that whilst horrendously expensive for what they are, the LR seals give the best fit. |

Nice.
But don’t lower it. It’s an off road vehicle not a tarmac racer. |
