Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge It will cover nearly all of the buttons and the heater controls. It depends how many buttons you have. The hazards are obstructed, this might be a problem. It doesn't seem like a problem day to day, but i am looking to move the hazard warning switch to the end, block the heater vents and move the screen up a bit. I didn't fully tighten the screws up so the screen can be tilted freely. It is a very nice unit and have no regrets about installing it, but if alpine made a halo 7 I would swap it out very quickly. |

It is another option. If you don't install the back cover you can still get to the hazards. You can easily get to 4 of the buttons and the other 2 can still be used ok. Window and heater controls are still accessable. It is a little difficult to see as it has no angle adjustment and in a truckcab you can't put the seats back far enough to get a good angle. I have only used it with Android Auto.
I normally use YouTube Music and that works great, but I have used Spotify and that seemed to work fine. I had a little bit bother with usb cables with some android phones, but this is the case with all android auto headunits. Google maps works great The unit has its own GPS receiver and an antenna that will need installing to get the best reception, but it will also use the GPS signal from the phone. I used it for a few weeks without the antenna installed and it worked fine. I have not connected the camera up yet, but the screen is very clear and the capacitive touchscreen is nicer to use than the resistive ones on the Pioneer units. |
