One way central locking....
2006 TD5 90 central locking issue...

I have had all 3 doors apart, cleaned all locks with brake cleaner and lubricated with silicon spray they are all free moving.

Removed the locking motors, again free moving and reinstalled - only anomaly at that stage was the drivers door lock was activating when I was putting it back in place but did not get the same reaction from the rear and passenger door??

Changed batteries in both fobs and checked fuses under dash.

So the car unlocks all 3 doors from the fob but wont lock them. When the lock is pressed the indicators flash 3 times and the red light activates in the speedo. All Doors have to be closed/locked manually.

Any ideas folks??

Cheers

driver door switch also in-portent too so alarm unit nos if door not closed but ajar

What happens if you attempt to lock the doors from the drivers door switch rather than the fob? It might just be that one of the door switches is not being closed so it thinks there is still a door open.

In this situation, after locking the car from the drivers door the doors will immediately unlock.

Hi Tony,

When using the key to lock the drivers door, the passenger/rear doors do not lock, they also have to be manually closed. Once all 3 are locked, the fob can be pressed (to lock doors) and the indicators flash, red light on speedo activating the alarm.
After this has been done all 3 doors will unlock via the remote fob.

from info provided I feel that the culprit could very well be one of the door or bonnet switches.... hopefully... 2006 TD5

Hi John

I don't mean using the key, but the internal button on the drivers door. If the solenoids don't fire up using the key from the drivers door lock, that could simply be adjustment - my doors can take a few attempts to trigger the solenoids if I attempt to lock the car using the key (since changing the doors and moving the locking mechanism over).

So, if you press the button on the drivers door and the doors lock then immediately unlock, then that is symptomatic of a door switch (the alarm thinks a door, or bonnet, is still open).

When the drivers door is locked from inside by pressing the latch down there is no response from the other 2 doors and the latch remains down ..... 2006 TD5

Sounds like a broken wire or one is disconnected... Suggest you remove the the door panel and have a look at the solenoid and the rubber wire covering at the hinges. 2010 Range Rover MkIII Autobiography Super Charged (Idris)
