Ohms and amplifiers

Hi all, I have a kicker 4 channel amp, I plan to run a pair of front speakers and bridge the other output to run a 8” 4 ohm sub woofer, so far I’m ok with that lot and how to wire up etc,
But what effect will bridging the amp have to ohms ? As I think I have confused my self to think that by bridging the amp it will run in 2 ohms and potentially damage it ?

Blooming electricity stuff ! All made by wizards and witchcraft if ya ask me

Most amps (if not all?) will halve the resistance (ohms) when bridged, so unless your sub is 2ohm then I think you may end up with problems.

Unless you get a second amp just for the sub and run front & rear mid ranges on the kicker amp?

Maybe the kiker amp will give 4 ohm bridged... you'd have to check the specs.

35 watts rmsx4 at 4 ohms (. 50watts rms x 4ar 2 ohms)

100 watts rms x 2 in bridged mode ( 4 ohm stable in bridged mode )

How many terminals does the Sub have a negative and positive or two of each?

You need to match as close as possible the RMS wattage, and use the same impedence OHM's for both Amp output and Sub input. (Not all Amps you can bridge, but if they can be details will be in specs and impedence in bridged.)
So all details will be in Sub and Amp docs or online including the Subs impedance.

If it is a 4ohm SVC it is 4ohm.
If it's 4ohm DVC it can be wired to be 8Ohm or 2Ohm impedance load depending on if it's wired in series or parallel. $W33T $0U7H3RN $UG4R
