United Kingdom 2015 Defender 90 Puma 2.2 XS CSW Corris Grey
Hi Roy,

Do you have a picture if the sprinter vents in the Defender? Would be good to see how they came out!

Anyone else done other vent mods they would be willing to share?!

Cheers Thumbs Up

Saw this on Angry Pumas. Interesting comparison. IMHO the ones on the right are maybe too big?!

I like that a lot, think it suits the interior very well Thumbs Up

How much fettling was involved?

I noticed there's a few different versions of these, some seem to have a bend in the ducting and some don't and are straight, which ones should be used or does it not matter?

thanks

The chrome ones which are from the C and E class Mercs are quite a bit wider and will sit a bit too proud on the dash in my view. But look good as the pics show.

The sprinter ones have a smaller diameter...but are just black....but also look good. A class are best for fit and there are a few types of these. Some with notches or marks on the chrome rims and some smooth.

The Merc centre dash vents fit...not the side vents. You do have to do a bit of interior modifications to get them in....but they slot into the vent ducts just fine.

I have also heard of some Audi and Ford vents being used too! 2015 Overfinch Defender XS 90

I'm going to go with the black sprinter ones as they would suit my interior best, but theres a few different sprinter ones out there. The one which pj2106 used with the item no. A91083034019051 seems to have a little bend in the ducting, like so:

- I'm just wondering if this is a problem or not when it comes to fitting, as there also seems to some without the bend:

At £40 a vent (secondhand) I'd like to make sure I order the right ones

The sprinter ones fit fine you need to cut the bottom of the vent holes out bit fit spot on

You’ll struggle to find used sprinter ones and they about £65 a piece 2008 110 2.4 XS Utility (Hagrid)

So i managed to get myself a second hand one of the sprinter vents, same item number as A91083034019051

the bend seems to follow the ducting behind the dash so I'm hoping this wont be too much of a problem.

I'm guessing I'm going to need to cut some of the dash out where the vent fits into it, the part I've marked red in the below picture?

I was hoping I would be able to cut up the actual vent itself to save making any permanent "modifications" to the dash but after looking at how the closing "flap" works on the vent I think I might have to keep it pretty much intact

You are correct. You’ll also need to cut the metal tangs off the new vents Thumbs Up

They also slot into the existing angled vent in the back of the dash.

You’re also correct in the thinking that you’ll need to keep them while due to the closing mechanism. 2011 Defender DCPU 2.2 - https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic30623.html

Mercedes vents in puma dash
Does anyone have a part number of the mercedes A class vents that fit best? and Is it only the 3 center dash vents that fit best? It looks as though in that cluster of 3 vents the center module is straight and the right and left are offset/bent. is it only the center vent that is straight that will fit in the puma dash?

Apologies to revive this post but it could be useful for others as well.

I brought the sprinter ones, Im not able to push them in snug (see the pictures)

what am i missing here? I did trimming at the bottom of the opening and cut the plastic where the metal clips .. what else?

Nevermind I was able to fix it. I did a lot of cutting and the last part is to push it hard until it’s snug
