Got 322,000 miles from a 300Tdi without any particular problems. Reduced oil change interval to 5000 miles after 100,000 miles to keep the sums easy.
It is still out there somewhere, earning its keep. Pushing 400,000 miles with the current truck, a friend has nearly 750,000 miles on his It is not a Defender, it is a One_Ten |

330k is a good effort. To be fair mine is trigger’s broom. It just needs a new turbo and steering box and I could register it in 2019

My 90's is on 18k miles on a P plate, Mind you it was rolled into a ball at 18mths old. I bought it as an unfinished project 2 yrs ago with galvanised chassis/ Stainless exhaust/ new rear tub and front end. Many miles to do over the next few decades.

Rolled over to 367k on Friday.
Keep changing the oil every 6,000 miles and look after it and it will go on practically for ever. |

I don’t know if I’ll get to that sort of mileage, circa 18 years at the current rate, I’ll be 63 and no doubt by that time diesel for road use will be on a par with drink driving!

Mines a boring looking farm spec, with the addition of heated seats and electric windows, I can’t abide the window winder rubbing against my leg!
Click image to enlarge Needs a bit of tlc, the paint job isn’t great and starting to flake. I’d like to make it a soft top and paint it to match the 110, just for fun, but there is something quite honest about it as it is. |
