United Kingdom 2014 Defender 110 Puma 2.2 USW Corris Grey
Me and my wife visited a couple of months back when they did 'Red by night'. We got kicked out at 5.00pm, and then let back in at 7.00pm. The Museum was open till late. They had the Anchor Forge up and running with the steam hammer (this is the Scrap Yard in Peaky Blinders), entertainers in the streets, gas lights lit and steam traction engines in the street. Can't recommend the place enough.

Apparently, an American said that the Black Country is black by day and red by night meaning the place was filthy during the day time and glowed red at night with the forges and steam engines that were common. It must have been a very grim place to live at the turn of the last century. I think the TV series does a pretty good job of showing this when the family are at the Garrison.

The visit to the museum was what made me become interested in the TV show. I have just been on boxset overload trying to get up to date (only got four programmes more to go)
