2007 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 XS CSW Java Black

Loose rear prop bolts

I was just out greasing the prop UJs and noticed that the nuts securing the rear prop to the handbrake drum were all loose. Re torqued them but concerned as to why they were loose in the first place. Any suggestions? 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

Old lock nuts been reused and not replaced at some point in the past, can be OK if you use some thread lock.

I don’t think a theft attempt. Can’t see that they would go round loosen the 4 bolts, but not remove any of them.

I’ve ordered some fresh new ones to go on. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS
