The insurance value is based on year of manufacture plus an agreed excess. This may or may not equate to the value of the new 2020 model.
I have an agreed value insurance with Adrian Flux. My standard trim 2014 110 XS is insured for 20% more than book price. ( The 'book' price I use ie taken from the LRO magazine). I got a desk value by a member of Instutute of Insurance Assessors 3 years ago and as values seem to be steady I still use this value. (Desk value is where the valuer looks at actual selling prices within a 50 mile radius of your address). The way I understand it there seems to be 2 types of agreed price Site sponser A Plan do a form of agreed value which pays a set agreed excess value above book price at the time of claiming. Adrian Flux give an agreed value based on the book price at the time of insuring the motor. I think the people who should be more concerned with agreed price insurance are owners of older pre Td5 Defenders as the prices for these seem to be going through the roof. Time will tell but it is to be hoped that because the new 2020 Defender bears no relation to post Td5 Defender that the prices will continue to hold or maybe rise as with the older models. |

This will be interesting regarding future values of the "classic" Defender...
Only time will tell as the new one depreciates, which I can imagine it will do quite heavily due to its complexity and more mass produced nature. I am currently thinking old Defenders will retain their value and possibly appreciate further, but who knows? |

I was with LV but having let them know all my upgrades they finally said sorry we can’t insure you, so I went with A plan who were brilliant to deal with in everyway and gave me an agreed value policy with all the mods included and it wasn’t much more than I was paying with LV 2015 HT XS 90 2008 SVX 90 2000 XS TD5 90 |
