2016 Defender 130 Puma 2.2 HCPU Santorini Black

Series 1 back on the road

I have been doing some more work on the S1 while having some time from work recuperating from illness.

Removed the rad and it finally returned from the re core looking all too new for my ratty old girl. Anyways, fitted and she fired first turn. Took it for a short run and then gave it a wash. It was still carrying most of the straw from 1982 when it was laid up!

Pootled around for 15miles yesterday and it’s running reasonably. Think I will change the cap, coil and leads next job.

That looks proper, nicely patinated and unspoit a bit like mine, I assume a 52/53?

It’s a 1951.

Have done most of the bigger jobs:

Full re wire with an auto sparks loom.
Brakes and cooling done.
New swivels and seals.
All new bushes.
Some welding to one part of the bulkhead and chassis.
Repro d lights as originals had been nabbed.
Full service and all fluids. 1951 80" S1 2.0

Looks very nice. 1951 built but I think 1952 model year as the wings changed from 2 piece to one piece spot welded inners and outers, also the inverted T grill and exterior door handles with no canvas flaps in the door tops came in for the 52 model year. There were numerous other small changes as well.
