So I was hoping that once at the body shop it would progress quicker however that wasn’t to be. I was assured it would be back to me within 6 weeks as they had a lot of other jobs on. I left it 8 before chasing and was told progress was slow. Then a few days before I was due to go on holiday. I got a text from them basically saying they were no longer going to take the job on I went on holiday (gratuitous pic of the other weekend car)

When I came back I visited a local company that has started modifying and selling defenders, the owner was really helpful and put me in touch with thier body shop, a discussion swiftly took place and they agreed to take the job on. Not only that but they had picked the car up within 12 hours as the previous lot had broke it down. Work has quickly started and they are hopeful it’ll be finished in a couple of weeks. Below is a few pictures of how I found it at the first place and it’s progress to date. How I found it. Ok so progress is continuing and some of the painting has been completed. I should say before I put the pictures up that earlier on in the thread I’d picked to go Keswick green. This was always a choice that I kept coming back and re visiting and was never 100% convinced on. So not surprisingly I changed my mind and here is Fred (named after the rusty car out of Disney’s cars) sporting his new finish.
Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge I opted for Bahama gold, also decided to go with raptor bed lining finish for the rear. It should stand up well without me adding a mat of some description. |

So the seats are all done now, I spoke to Ricardo of coolnvintage who was extremely helpful and gave me the details of his supplier for the fabric they use. It’s designed for outdoor use so is perfect for what I wanted.

Yes I’m so pleased with how it’s turned out and the finish. I know it’s not to everyone’s taste and style but I think it’s nice.
