I was embarrassed for him. Pretty luke warm reception to it and think he was noticeably caught off guard by the lack of whooping and cheering. https://instagram.com/bentheoandrews

Well that was disappointing.

For me, the choice of colours for the ‘reveal’ demonstrates the degree to which LR has lost its way.

I appreciate it may seem trivial, but in my mind, colours like Epsom Green, Aintree Green, Oslo Blue, Loire Blue, Montalcino Red, etc. are colours that will stand the test of time; just like the proper defenders and series vehicles.

Where as Gondwana Stone and Pangea Green, will look old and dated within three years (to be honest I think they look disgusting already); which is when people will bin them off and buy a new one.

Defenders are meant to be different, but instead, they will be on the same 6/7 year lifecycle (with facelifts in between) as all the other euroboxes.

I guess that’s how I would describe the new ‘defender’; just another eurobox Sad 2011 CSW XS 90

First impressions; it's expensive for the spec compared to other SUVs. Fuel consumption figures are a little alarming. I still don't like the look of the front and the proportions of the 110. The 90 looks okay with the A Bar, but I couldn't find it in the myriad of options. Will be interested to see the pricing of the 90.

Just used the configurator and got to £102,321 Shocked

I thought the wrap he talked about on the launch editions would be included in the price, but is a £2,900 extra.

Oddly, I was worried that I would love it, and have to justify the expense to another part of my head. I'm oddly relieved that it's so boring and mundane. Just seen the AutoExpress pic with the bullbar on the front !!! What possessed JLR to show this car in that colour, for a start?!? And steel wheels??? As I said, just so glad it's looks so bad.

I won't be buying it. Now left.

I started watching through the JLR Youtube site (until it froze!) at the beginning it said only 3,700 were watching and this only rose to just 0ver 6,000 before it crashed for me. Not the sort of viewing figures i would have expected?

The more I look, the more I think it looks odd from the front 3/4

If I bought one, it'd have to be a 90X, which is available with the 400HP petrol engine.
O-60 in 6.5 secs isn't too bad, would be quite an exciting Defender!
But I'm of the opinion that owners who are pretty happy with a nice original late model Puma aren't gonna be too concerned.

It's all a bit Farrow and Ball.

You know that the inclusion of square rear lights, like the current FFRR will be out of date by the next facelift. A Defender should be timeless.

Will be interesting to see what happens to values of “The Real Defender” vehicles - hopefully not much as the New Defender is so expensive and complex I can only see the originals being even more in demand, and more stealable. Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come
2020 D240 1st Edition in Pangea Green with Acorn interior. Now gone - old faithful, no mechanical issues whatsoever ever but the leaks and rattles all over the place won’t be missed!

A little bit of me was tempted with the new 90. The six seats are great and I thought it would be good to have something a little smaller than my 110.
Then I checked the dimension - the new 90 is the same length as the old 110.

I still like that folding middle seat...

A 110 specced up to match my Disco 2 is going to set me back a few pennies under £72k on the road.

Has anyone found the front winch option on the configurator yet? There is a winch accessory pack at (IIRC) a shocking £343 (steep for two shackles, a strop, and a manual), but I cannot find am actual winch.

I will certainly take my build well over the £72k mark.
