The official launch event which we all can follow on YouTube or other is Tuesday morning, no?
Well, I suddenly feel happy that I’m going to be busy all Tuesday morning with the heating company visiting for our heat pump replacement project. Eric You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation. http://youtu.be/yVRlSsJwD0o https://youtu.be/vmPr3oTHndg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_GtzTT9Pdl0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABqKPz28e6A https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rLZ49Jce_n0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XvAsz_ilQYU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K8tMHiX9lSw https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=dxwjPuHIV7I https://vimeo.com/201482507 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSixqL0iyHw |

So they indeed were (very good) actors after all. Eric You never actually own a Defender. I've just booked an Experience day in scotland for 2 weeks time, I asked if they would have the new Defender, but sadly not so doing it in the new Discovery instead. 2016 D4 HSE 1998 110 TUM HS FFR Hard Top XD WOLF 1982 Series 3 SWB Petrol |

I guess it’s the way it tapers in from above the shoulder that struck me. Although it’s overall wider so I would be interested in comparing the internal width with the original. |

Could have two real defenders restored and rebuild with galvanised parts for that price

Don't like the 110 proportions at all and I don't think they've really managed to 'retrofy' the new Defender from ours in the way, for example, BMW did so successfully with the mini. Having said that, if I was in the market for a modern, premium 4x4 and had options of Velar, Disco, Cayenne, etc. I would give the 90, especially in those white/green 'Heritage' colours, serious consideration. I like the one in the photo (bar the awful green leather interior) a lot.
But a Defender it ain't In fact looking at the profiles again, this to me still remains what the new Disco5 should have been. Clearly all new, seemingly far more capable, but the look is a SWB Disco and a LWB Disco. This is understandable a simple the Disco itself obviously took many of its styling cues from the Defender. Monsieur Le Grenadier I've not been everywhere, but it's on my list..... 2011 Puma 110DC - Corris Grey |

I’ve avoided commenting on what the new defender may or may not be like on here but clearly those images are the real deal .
Frankly it’s a fantastic looking SUV that will not doubt be supremely capable both on and off the road . There really isn’t anything not to like . However the bug bear for me is in the name , it doesn’t carry that legend “Defender” forward but gives it a shove sideways and slots it into an entirely different category to that of the original . The void will undoubtedly be filled with Japanese pick ups , I should think the likes of Mitsubishi, Toyota and Nissan are chuffed to bits with the new “premium 4x4” from JLR . I’m not saying I won’t get one at some point but if I do it will be to replace my wife’s Disco 4 , if I replace the Defender (unlikely!) it will be a Jap pick up Great design as with all their products and I’m sure it will be a roaring success https://www.instagram.com/hustynminepark/ |

I wasn't miserable until I saw the pictures. I am now. Take the badges off it and what does it look like? All the rest? |

what did you expect? the EU outlawed the old defender (59 year old) shape because of stupid pedestrians and the old engines based on stupid ecowarriers - it was always going to be closer to other vehicles. thankfully it looks like a D3 which, for me, was the ultimate meld of old school land rover with 21st century styling/technology that coud still be at home in the rough stuff - so all good!
