Looks great, welcome to Defender ownership!! Security is a priority, do a search on here for lots of ideas.
If you every get rid of the fog/spot lights, I'd be interested at the right price. ![]() MY2012 110 2.2TDCi XS SW Orkney Grey - http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic43410.html MY1990 110 200TDi SW beautifully faded Portofino Red - https://www.defender2.net/forum/post743641.html#743641 MY1984 90 V8 Slate Grey - https://www.defender2.net/forum/post744557.html#744557 Instagram @suffolk_rovers |

It does have various keys and an alarm already, what other measures would you recommend?
RE the spot lights, you don't want them trust me. They might be genuine LR but they're knackered. When I remove them I'll dry them out and if I think they can be salvaged I'll let you know but I'm not confident they'll ever work |

For those interested, upcoming work includes...
At home work... LED Side Lights Slickshifter Clutch assist spring EGR delete New speakers Plus I am negotiating with a local LR specialist to carry out... Full large service (engine oil, rotor, oil filter, air filter, fuel filter, gearbox oil, transfer box oil, diff/axle oil etc.) New steering box All new ball joints/track rod ends/F & R shock bushes/radius arm bushes/tramp bar bushes New swivel assembly Discs/Pads/Bearings Wiper arms/blades New bump stops & new door hinges Beyond the above, I will be looking at window seals, carpets, repainting the roof/bumper/various hinges etc and the tailgate door which is warped and rusty. Then just in time for the really bad weather I'm hoping to get a quote for waxoyl'ing If I've missed anything you think you would look at right away, please let me know! |

I'm sorry, but I think it looked loads better before! People moaning about the 2020 Defender not looking like a Defender, probably have this 'facelift'..which takes nice rounded corners of the original headlight surround and put square corners on, on the rounded edge of the wing... Like Dolly Parton... it costs a lot of money to look cheap. Put the originals back on ![]() (I now, each to their own, but I can accept ANY mod, but I do not understand these, makes it look very lego) |

It's your defender as mine is mine and as long as we the owners like the mods we do that's all that matters fella

I do agree with Greeni, but if we all liked the same thing life would be boring!
![]() You mention waxoyling, whilst better than nothing waxoyl is considered quite old fashioned these days. This thread may be of interest or at least give you some good bedtime reading! ![]() MY2012 110 2.2TDCi XS SW Orkney Grey - http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic43410.html MY1990 110 200TDi SW beautifully faded Portofino Red - https://www.defender2.net/forum/post743641.html#743641 MY1984 90 V8 Slate Grey - https://www.defender2.net/forum/post744557.html#744557 Instagram @suffolk_rovers |

Took a drive down the M4 yesterday and ended up smothering everyone behind me in white smoke
Pulled over and checked fluids, all ok. Let it rest, fired her up 30 minutes later and filled the services with smoke again Called the AA and got a tow to my local garage They called a few hours later and apparently the dipstick was dry, they've diagnosed a knackered turbo... |

If the clutch assist spring is from LOF clutches, expect it to take longer than they advise (45mins approx) and also expect to swear a significant number of times as it's an absolute
![]() I found a set of heavy duty mole grips did the trick, as well as a big flathead screwdriver. Good luck - it makes a considerable difference. |
