re
just saw these online:

“Land Rover will give visitors to the Frankfurt Motor Show the chance to join the New Defender on a virtual reality expedition.

The experience will have guests join brand ambassador and adventurer Bear Grylls on a helicopter ride. Together they will take pics of the new vehicle driving over different terrains as the Defender showcases its pioneering technology, capability and durability.”

So the spy image, from a few months back, of the Defender II dash, showing an image of the car between the dials, was in fact a true likeness and not photoshopped guesswork as was the belief at the time!

You know you can do it from the comfort of your own sofa?

I'm trying to think of the last live event JLR PR put on ~ was it the fiasco with Quentin Wilson et al?

From an article in today’s Eastern Times.

Jonny Hudson, sales executive at Inchcape in Norwich, said: "We've had reservations on nine, we don't know anything more than our customers. We are expecting the price to be in the region of £50,000-£60,000. The Defender has been such an iconic model since the 1940s and it's in the new James Bond film which is perfect timing.

The LR Marketing dept must be doing a good job as I have found myself quite excited about the reveal now (not that I can afford one!).

Is it wishful thinking to think they could have one at the LRO Show 14/15th Sept?? Whistle

I thought the same about the LRO, I’m thinking from launch they will be in marketing overdrive and you would think take every opportunity to get it in front of people. 110 MY23.5 X Dynamic HSE

Zooming it looks like a 3/4 length roof rack that starts at the B pillar. Door handles look very standard and a large blanked section behind the C pillar.

Can also see what look like RR gills adjacent to the A pillar.

I have been watching this thread and others with an ever increasing level of disillusionment. I find it incomprehensible that Land Rover have taken a legend, born from it's design and ability and turned it in to yet another piece of design boredom, utilising so much unnecessary technology. Time will tell but I doubt that this Pretender, for that is what it should be called, will stand the test of time. My heart goes out for the lost Land Rover and the British employees but 69 years after it rolled of the production line, this real land Rover,

is still keeping the legend alive.
