Been away a while, lots going on in personal life so this has taken a slight back seat.
Gave up on the engine that was in it, drank oil nearly as quickly as petrol. I kept looking out for a suitable engine, toyed with going non-Rover V8 but in the end did the obvious thing. Bought a perfectly good, ex-factory Classic Range Rover with a freshly rebuilt and tweaked engine in it... The engine is mildly fiddled with 3.9 (Kent cam, ported and flowed heads, decent timing chain, etc etc). Ran it up in the RR and she was a good as hoped. Next decision was the gearbox - originally planned to use the auto box but was talked out of it - at the moment the Range Rover could go back on the road (and maybe it will, as I dont seem to be able to sell it for anything over scrap without an engine ) with just an engine in it. Feeling was if we pulled the box it would never go back and that seemed a waste. So happily with a split from the wife taking the focus off what I buy a new Ashcroft R380 in full V8 spec was ordered. Need to get a black R380 carpet to go over the new gearbox tunnel (completely different to the old LT85 one). Final bit was to get my steering wheel changed to the Adventure one I had waiting. Personally have never found an aftermarket wheel I like (and really dont get why people like little wheels...) and love this one. Anyway, photos... Sadly divorce forced me to sell this a year or two back. Gutted.
However, have now replaced with two slightly different versions of my perfect 110. Threads to follow |
