Is it OK to run without the bottom end in the water?
Our larger engines at the sailing club eat the water pump rotors if run dry even for a short time Sad

You are right, not a good idea to run an outboard with no water intake. I have an adapter which covers the water intake and fits a hose, so I can flush the sea water out at the same time as running the carb dry. Thumbs Up
