300tdi loom with td5 wiper switch-info on differences

I’m rewiring a friends defender and have come a bit stuck with the windscreen wipers, wonder if anyone has any ideas.

We have a brand new 300tdi main loom (few plugs missing) and new relay and a new td5 wiper stalk. At the moment I can get the washer pump to operate and the motor will run for a few wipes as it should. But I cannot get the wipers to operate on their own in any switch position.

I THINK I have the wiring at the switch plug correct, but the plastic of the switch had been removed so I matched both sides of the plug, so I think the wiring is right.

Have you come across anything like this, heard of any differences?

Any suggestions gratefully received as I’m a bit stuck, my best guess is I may have got the wires wrong at the switch but the colours look right. 2015 RRS Autobiography SDV6

Thanks, unfortunately the wires look like they should be the same colour, which I am sure I have matched, I will need to double check though, has anyone used td5 stalk and 300 loom, is there a difference?

The pins were there on the loom side and we got a plastic plug to match the stalk so that it’s fits together, it just won’t work apart from when pushing for water and it wipes.

Go through and check the wire point to point again

Finally got to look at this today, so a bit of info some of you may find useful one day in the future. 4 of the 6 cable colours between TD5 switch and 300tdi wiring are the same, the other two are different between plug and socket. Changing them two over sorted it all out.

We then found that the park position was with the wipers up instead of down. This was a turbo diesel wiper motor and TD5 cable and boxes, park switch was working correctly, but on the main drive cog there is a plastic bit and a metal bit, the plastic bit needed to be gently prised slightly off the metal holder and rotated 180 degrees.
