Beginning 2011 I found out Midrand and Centurion Dealers in SA uses Castrol SLX Professional 5W30
I used the same on my "in between service" but would have like to use Shell Helix Ultra 5W40 or Even Mobil 1 0W40) (I think 5W30 is to thin for our summer climate and going north over our borders)

So this week Land Rover Centurion serviced the Puma and they used Mobil 1 0W40 (And this was not at my request Smile

Abrie, none of these oils conform to the manufacturer's specifications. All good and well now, but should anything happen to the engine, LRSA will throw the book at you and refuse to cover the warranty because you did not use the correct oil.

Before you switch oils for good, I suggest you send an email to LRSA detailing eveything the dealer has done and see what their response is. --

Sure thing I will do...Want to discuss this with Centurion Dealer too but have not yet done so.

Just out of interest:
The guys in SA read the oil as Mobil 10W40 INSTEAD of Mobil 1 0W40 on my posts (Mobil 1 -- (0W40)

If you mean the 10w40 (http://www.mobil.com/USA-English/Lubes/PDS/NAXXENPVLMOMobil_1_High_Mileage_Oil.aspx), then it's not that far off the spec, since it's still a CF oil although not ACEA A5/B5.

If you mean the 0w40 (http://www.mobil.com/USA-English/Lubes/PDS/GLXXENPVLMOMobil_1_0W-40.aspx), then it's also not that far off, although has a higher HTHS - 3.9 vs 3.8. --
