Given the capability of the D5, it would make sense to carry over as much of the running gear as possible. It's a full size, hugely capable 4x4 with the same load and towing capacity as a Defender. Darren

Yes would be a bad call financialy to not use parts that a already work from previous platforms, if it aint broke dont fix it, just improve.
I imagine it will have beefed up and/or longer travel versions of the D5 subframe with a modular mainframe to take all the different drivetrains over the coming years.

Comparing to the D5, in the new defender the spare is not under for a start, and exhuast looks higher up when it travels under the subframe.
