So I’ve swapped the switch
Old: ![]() Click image to enlarge New: ![]() Click image to enlarge The new one is a different style to the old one, and I can’t get it to screw in any further than it already has. Is this an issue? Should it be flush like the old one was? Could do with a smaller adjustable spanner as it’s quite tight under there to see if that will help. Oil light is still illuminated for a few seconds on first start up, before flicking off. It doesn’t come back on at all when driving. On second start up it flicks off almost immediately. There are no obvious leaks anywhere bar the sump plug weeping slightly. Any further recommendations? |

The oil light being on for a few seconds after first starting is quite normal. Every Tdi I’ve driven has done it.

I had the same issue, I now use a light duty Locktite (small screws). Works perfectly and the sump plug comes out without a struggle. |

I also noticed that the oil filter was slightly loose, so I’ve tightened that up, but it needs a good tightening up tomorrow.

I've had 2 instances where the oil filter was a quarter turn loose, especially after bad dirt roads.
Now mine is wire locked when I service her. |

I’ve got my exhaust manifold gasket to do tomorrow, so I’ll give it a good turn while I’m all dirty from that 😄
