Hello, been thinkin about buyin a new grill and headlight surrounds, kinda like the grey ones, has anyone tried paintin there's? How did it go?!

Cheers for the advice, has anyone tried it?! There's a set on fleabay for £50 odd quid plus pnp thought I could save myself a buck?!

Ive read that one of the Ford grey colours sold as aerosols in halfords, is almost identical to LR Brunel grey.

Yup I painted mine. As mentioned above it's all in the preparation, good advice already given.

Two tins of paint, already had laquer, off I jolly well trot! Will post pic once done cost about £11 I think!! Better than £65 ish!!!!

Use a proper plastic primer. Its never over in my land rover.

FWIW. Land Rover only sells the silver grille and headlamps surrounds as a full set. Sit down for the price. £515.00

yeah thats right - and when they come over the Irish Sea to a LR dealer here they then become € 900 ! I've still got a lump on my head from falling over backwards when I asked the dealer 'can I have a Brunel grille on mine please ?'
So I've decided black is the new Brunel and from pics I've seen in Pistonheads it goes well with Stornoway/Orkney anyway. |

They are just standard black plastic ones with a bit of paint sprayed on them anyway. Steve.
