Read this today in the North Wales Chronicle. I had no idea that torching a Land Rover can only be heard in a Crown Court. You learn something new every day.
A MAN appeared in court today (Tuesday) charged with conspiracy to pervert the course of justice in connection with a burned-out Land Rover. There was no bail application and Gavin Jones, 36, of Bryngwran, Anglesey, was remanded in custody by magistrates at Caernarfon in Gwynedd. He will appear before the town’s crown court on August 27. The charge alleges conspiracy relating to arson of a Land Rover Discovery – an offence which can only be tried in the crown court. Or is it the conspiracy wording though reading the article it states the offence as the burning of a Land Rover does anyone know which it is. Maybe he had a previous conviction(s)?
It seems bizarre that he is remanded in custody and the solicitor did not apply for bail?? Of course if it is his wife / girlfriends car, that may well be the safest place for him |

Hi is charged with killing a man with a crossbow, and torching the Land Rover to conceal evidence. So much more serious than it seems at first glance
