Thursday morning the alarm on my 2002 TD5 110 went off at 06.25, which for me wasn't too bad as I was due to get up at 06.30 anyway! However, I don't think my neighbours were too pleased though!
I checked out my Defender (as soon as I was decently attired!) and all was well. From the looks of things it had just started raining and I think this caused some kind of pressure change that caused the volumetric sensor to trigger. Anyway tonight is 18 degrees outside, clear and dry and the alarm has gone off twice already! Where do I start? |

With alarm faults I always start with eith bypassing the bonnet sensor, or unplugging the internal sensor and seeing if any more false alarms happen. Often during rain it’s water getting onto the door switches, and a good spray with an oil can solve this, but now your getting dry false alarms try the first mentioned options. Does it always lock ok?

I'm pretty sure the issue is with the volumetric sensor.
I changed the bonnet switch fairly recently and light to moderate pushes on the bonnet don't trigger the alarm. Locking the car with the key ensured a good night's sleep - last evening the alarm went off a few times before I locked it with the key rather than the remote! There are no flies in my car - the spiders have eaten them al! Seriously though, is it just a matter of changing the volumetric sensor? |

I would get it plugged into a nanocom. That will tell you what last triggered the alarm 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon
