So while covered a length elseware I thought I would rekindle the idea.
While the centre console was out this evening on the Puma I thought I would investigate the poor illumination around the heating controls and other switches. Indeed a couple of the bulbs had gone, including the one in the lighter. Swaped a working one into the lighter and all illuminated so thats sorted. The headlight leveler also does not light up but can not see an obvious way to get into it, is it a changable bulb or do you have to replace the whole switch? Also what is the feeling on moving over to LED? Don't want to change the colour or anything like that but would like them a little brighter. However not keen on the very cold white light from some LED's I think the present filiment bulbe are 1.2W and I see 2W are available as here https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Land-Rover-Defe...SwASRceBd1 |

Whilst I don’t have your answers - as puma is way too flashy for me 😆. I used https://www.classiccarleds.co.uk (no affiliation)on my 300 and have never been disappointed - I do believe they also offers LEDs in different brightness levels.
I’ve changed to led for sidelights, dash, and interior lamps, and it makes a considerable difference - especially when I’ve got the family in the back munching on fish and chips in the winter! |

The headlight adjust has an led on the inside. This can be cut out and a new one soldered in if you were inclined to do so.

Thanks Roy, like the illuminated cup holders.
Would like to see more about the mirror, have been concidering an auto dim one. I have a suction cup stick on one fixed to the very top of the windscreen as cant stand the original right in my line of sight. |

About 20 surface mount LEDs need to be de-soldered then new SMDs soldered in place. Obviously after fully dismantling the clocks. 2011 Defender DCPU 2.2 - https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic30623.html
