We had some hill fires recently that burnt all the heather from the hills. However around the immediate area of a WW2 crashed aircraft site the heather did not burn. Just one of those things...

![]() A Wellington hit some large, mature trees which were on top of the few bits of higher ground not too far away from here. Pieces of the aircraft including a large piece of tailplane remained embedded in one of the trees until the tree came down in I think the late '70's. It's now in a local museum and still has some of the fabric covering and paint intact. Steve. Owned numerous Land Rover vehicles of all shapes and sizes over the decades. Current Defender: A non tarts hand-bagged Puma 110 XS USW. [Insert something impressive here such as extensive list of previous Land Rovers or examples of your prestigeous and expensive items, trinkets, houses, bikes, vehicles etc] http://forums.lr4x4.com I used to be Miserable ...but now I'm ecstatic. |

Just kayaked past a major D Day Landing site on the river Fal - a HUGE number of troops gathered and left under the cover of the trees then crossed the Channel. What a grim thing to have to do.
Great pics Spud - sad though. Defender 110XS SW gone... now VW California 180 4 Motion. |
