just got this from dealer - they are expecting people to book with only a camo picture which was included in the email!!
" Exciting news from Land Rover – the mighty Defender will be back with us again soon. But make no mistake, this brand-new next-generation Defender is designed for the 21st century, with a beautifully modernised interior and dashboard combined with imposing all-new exterior styling that still remains unmistakably Defender. The new Defender has successfully completed a demanding testing program. By the time it goes into production, it will have passed more than 45,000 individual tests and has already been driven 1.2 million kilometres across all terrains and in extreme climates to ensure that it is the toughest and most capable Land Rover ever made. The new Defender builds on 70 years of innovation, honouring the previous model's heritage. A whole family of Defenders is planned — including short and long wheelbases, a pick-up and a wide choice of distinctive trim levels and accessories to suit your individual needs. Want to be one of the first to own a New Defender? You're definitely not alone. So please call into xxxxxxxxx Land Rover without delay or contact us now on 01xxxxxxx or by clicking the link below for more information and to consider your options. There's no obligation, of course, but we'll be pleased to invite you to act promptly by initiating an early build-slot for subsequent delivery in 2020. A fully refundable deposit will get your name on the list without delay. " I did notice mention of a pickup though - can`t remember this being discussed before. I think I`ll wait and see! PS; just seen this header on the email from the dealer and think it must be getting close to misrepresentation considering where it is to be built! Don`t drive faster than your angel can fly! |

Is Britain, without the Great a small town in Eastern Europe? I think the Japanese tried something similar many years ago.

It’s just gone. Simples. Looking for my hat now. Eric You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation. http://youtu.be/yVRlSsJwD0o https://youtu.be/vmPr3oTHndg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_GtzTT9Pdl0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABqKPz28e6A https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rLZ49Jce_n0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XvAsz_ilQYU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K8tMHiX9lSw https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=dxwjPuHIV7I https://vimeo.com/201482507 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSixqL0iyHw |

Defiantly not the 'Best 4x4' anymore. Maybe 'the best just got less practical, less customizable, least over landing like....happy shopping and school run'.

No mention of being built on the cheap in Eastern Europe with EU grants (ie our taxes) to build the production plant but sold as if built in the UK by a British highly trained and experienced workforce. JLR need to be wary that connecting it in any way to a BRITISH Icon is misleading advertising, they have to be up front and tell the truth, it will be an imported car. Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come 2020 D240 1st Edition in Pangea Green with Acorn interior. Now gone - old faithful, no mechanical issues whatsoever ever but the leaks and rattles all over the place won’t be missed! Last edited by Tim in Scotland on 17th Jul 2019 7:24pm.
