Does it say what size tyres it will use on the Standard.
I can just about make out it will be 18” wheels. The Autoexpress article keeps crashing for me so have not been able to download the image. 1995 Defender 110 CSW 1971 SIIA Lightweight |

It's just a parts bin special in a new frock.... It won't be available as a commercial vehicle... So that will kill that end of the market... I can't see it appealing to the off road brigade as it'll be too easily damaged and a nightmare to repair....
It'll sell in reasonable numbers as it's the "New Best thing"... At the expenses of the other models and until the next new best thing comes along But the biggest issue will be JLR themselves... It'll have issues and JLR will do their usual and just muck people about... Just my 2p's worth Tim It doesn't matter how bad it is, It can always get worse... 2013 Bowler 110 (Sold) 2016 Bowler 90 Rally Spec (Sold) |

It’s too big, too heavy, too wide, too complex,, too expensive to repair those complex shaped body panels, about 50% too expensive if the quoted prices are to go by (but that won’t worry the buyers of Chelsea Tractors who never go out of town in their “urban” Defenders so aren’t worried about handling or ride comfort but do worry about getting their Jimmy Choo’s wet) and looks too much like what a Disco 5 should have been - a natural successor to the D4. I have a deposit on one to replace my 23 years old, 100% reliable (more than can be said for the more modern Range Rovers I have owned) 90 TDi300 - so far not very attracted by what I have seen in the disguised and rendered images, although this one might get my vote.
https://uk.motor1.com/news/307513/new-land...rendering/ It looks a bit recycled L322 FFRR though........ looks like a used Disco4 might have to be the successor to my trusty 90 then, something I won’t mind getting the odd dent and bit of bramble rash on. Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come 2020 D240 1st Edition in Pangea Green with Acorn interior. Now gone - old faithful, no mechanical issues whatsoever ever but the leaks and rattles all over the place won’t be missed! |
