I don't think they are Freestyles either .
On Freestyles the outer part of the spokes slope inwards away from the front of the rim. You might be able to see in this pic: Click image to enlarge On the Defender in this thread the spokes meet the rim at the front. This style was fitted to very late RR Classics as in this photo. Click image to enlarge I don't know what they were called, but might also have been fitted to Discoverys of the same era?? With regards to Procta's preference for Boosts, they do look nice, again on a vehicle of the same era: Click image to enlarge It will be interesting to see WSD's choices and the finished vehicle. |

Popular opinion is to keep it standard then!
Standard it is! The new tub capping and door bottom repair panels are due here tomorrow I am also ordering a new fully Galvanised rear door from SP land rovers as the original has a lot of ali corrosion on the skin and the bottom has completely gone. Its going in the garage hopefully thursday to have all these new bits fitted and a full change of all fluids and filters and check of all brake pipes, bearings, UJ's etc but she's fairly good anyway so wont be too much wrong. Should have it back in a week or two ready for me to rub down chassis and buzzweld it, then find a bodyshop to get the bodywork mint. final thing will be new 265 75 16 BFG KO2 X5 on either these alloys or boosts. 2008 Santorini Black 110 XS USW (Sold) 2015 Discovery 4.5 Black pack Firenze red XS 2008 Corris Grey 110 XS USW (sold) 2011 Santorini Black 110 XS USW (Sold) |

I did have a 300Tdi some years back, If I remember correctly Some engines numbers had a recall issued to completely change the change the timing belt, tensioner and one of the main pulleys . It had been found that they were out of line when fitted correctly at the factory and shredded belts ,the new ones were manufactured so that the edges all lined up. Don't make old people mad.
We don't like being old in the first place, so it doesn't take much to us off. Richard |

She's all finished and is being collected by its new Lady owner on Saturday who saw it parked at my local pub and wanted to buy it there and then!
She's had a respray tidy up and a new rear door fitted all thats left to do is a polish and clean the interior up immaculate. I dont have any pics on the laptop but ill post them when I do so that brings this project to a end and onto the next one which is the Sierra Leone 110 with its own thread. 2008 Santorini Black 110 XS USW (Sold) 2015 Discovery 4.5 Black pack Firenze red XS 2008 Corris Grey 110 XS USW (sold) 2011 Santorini Black 110 XS USW (Sold) |
