Remember we had 2 Spey Turbines from a tornado jet on the 23 frigates generators. They did whistle

I can remember, back in about 1977, starting a Deltic diesel on a "Ton" class minesweeper using a cartridge start device. It is the only time I have ever had the opportunity to use a cartridge start system and was quite memorable.
The noise, even with ear defenders, was memorable too. |

Very interesting, but more interesting to me would be the "history" of that engine,...what id did do in WW11 & since, where it was found etc....Has anyone any info on this aspect?
