You can buy kits off ebay that give you an L322 style fob and uses the internals of your current fob. However you need to find s key place that will cut it for you. I couldnt find one that would cut a key i supplied. Instagram @defender_ventures

Isn’t there a forum member who sells these key fobs or is my old memory playing tricks again. Someone will remember a name and post it before I can remember I’m sure. 2015 HT XS 90

I found the "transplant the guts into a new shell" option, but somehow it seems that the 2.2 Tdci is exempt from that. Some parts dealers / internet dealers offered a "send me key and key fob, and get them back merged together", but I cannot see this for my Defender.
A professional key service answered me, I could only carry on with the standard key fob as long as the 2.2puma is concerned. But they may not be very deep in LR matters. |

I was interested in this also but progress stalled on it. There are a couple of threads below.
I am working away at the moment in Riyadh, where there are hundreds of car key programming shops, I intend to bring my Defender key fob & key over with me and see what they can do. I will report back but it is likely to be after August https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic56343.html https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic55695.html > 110 XS Double Cab |

Hi,
@HarryO. I followed that link and again ... : "This will work on all Defender models to 2012". Why is it that the 2.2 cannot have what is no problem with the 2.4 Puma and predecessors? I once came across that site/page: https://www.autoschlusselshop.de/landrover...amp;page=3 This one is offered as applicable to Land Rover Defender (Chassis EA000001- with remote locking) -2014 -2016 And while a Defender of 2014 to 2016 is just as much a 2.2Puma, as the 2012 to 2014 ... What makes the difference between the ModelYears ? [/img] |

I'm afraid I can't help you with that, I was looking at it for a TD5, perhaps there is a difference with the ignition barrel or the cowl though.
Whilst I have no reason to distrust this company, my one reservation is that you are providing them your address for the postage and later your EKA code when you return the box. As an alternative, you could buy a blank all-in-one key and programme it with a Nanocom or similar? 2005 Td5 110 Hardtop 1989 300Tdi 90 Soft top 1992 200Tdi 90 Truck cab with Land Cruiser axles |

Click image to enlarge I just bought a new case for the remote for my '07 110 xs sw. The land rover packet says refer to Land Rover technical bulletin No.86-12-96. Anybody have a copy of that bulletin or know what it says? Click image to enlarge |

If your old fob still works and you are just replacing the case for aesthetic reasons, then just take the circuit board out of the old case and place it into the new case.
If it's a flat battery re-sync then see here https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic13844.html If it needs programming then you need software and I can't help you > 110 XS Double Cab |

From what I know, the 2.4 Pumas and a few of the 2.2s have the 10AS module for their security and this is what most of these key alternatives work with. The later Pumas have moved away from the 10AS and are now using a different module, color black rather than green, if memory serves and this is why the older key alternatives will not work. Actually, there has been talk that some dealers will tell you that you can no longer get the 10AS module (should you need it) and you must upgrade to the newer modules. Not sure how true this is but there are still 10AS modules out there so you won't really have to upgrade the module until these supplies run out. I'm not sure if there any significant differences between the 10AS and the black module so if anyone out there knows, please do enlighten us. |

Cheers Hank Just changing the case as the rubber has worn through. I'll probably put a new battery in as its been a couple of years since I last changed it as per the workshop manual. Just wondered what the bulletin was all about. |
