Front ATB, flat tyre
Anyone know if it would be ok to run my spare wheel that’s smaller with an Ashcroft ATB diff? Currently running 285/75/16 and have a spare that’s 265/75/16? So around 2 inches difference? Defenders stuck around 20 miles away and won’t get a new tyre to me for around a week.

I imagine it would be ok since the front wheels will be loaded equally but I'd keep to moderate speeds. Alternatively why not put the spare on the back?

Have one in the rear also. I’m guessing it shouldn’t be much difference from going round a corner anyway. Might just swap them and trundle home.

Size difference is negligible; 3.8% - it will be fine. The diff is automatic torque biasing, not locked/welded so will just be like going round a permanent bend Laughing

Might trigger an ABS warning light as the sensor will pick up different RPM's. At 50mph on the 285 the 265 will be reading 51.9mph.

As said though, I wouldn't run it too long like that > 110 XS Double Cab

Perfect thank you. Just to get it back home until the new one comes.
