Defender 110 300TDI
1995 110k miles Fresh MOT with no advisories as of 13/06/2019 Unmolested ex fire services van. Replacement 300tdi from a disco (invoice for work came with it) £5500 I took this as a PX on my galv chassis 110 UTE last year…and stupidly didn’t check it over when it arrived! I do not think it had a proper MOT the year before, which is a shame as it’s actually a nice truck and the jobs below were time consuming but not expensive for a DIYer. It now owes me the asking price plus all the work and parts below! So it has now had:- -properly cleaned underneath and dry stored inside a workshop for about a month before welding work -a nice new rear cross member as it was plated over and crusty at the outer seams. -two midway body outriggers (they were MOTable but i didn’t like the look of them and it’s easy welding job) -main front outriggers are very good and original -some plating and improving on some existing repairs -Dinitrolled -serviced -rocker gasket -rear brakes -wheel bearing or two -A-frame ball joint (what a fun job that is!) -gearbox mount -replaced all lights with new take offs or nearly new. -rear light wiring sorted -repaired both front doors and refitted door cards with new door clips and lock receivers etc -repaired rear door so it’s nice and solid -5 modulars with GG AT2 tyres (all very good tread) It can come on the original steels it arrived with. -in tank fuel sender -4 x new mudflaps and new front brackets It has clearly been looked after when in the fire service, but doesn’t have paperwork to show. Front axle looks to have been rebuilt at some point, the fuel tank isn’t very old, for example. Interior is very good. Paintwork has been touched up here and there by a fire services apprentice mechanic i reckon! But it scrubs up OK and is all solid where it counts! I would say the photos flatter the paintwork a little. It drives nicely and I actually enjoy driving it more than the TD5s i've had recently, has the normal slight snick into 2nd if rushed. I am sadly trying to “de-defender” myself for the time being, which is proving rather difficult! Photos here:- There are pictures from last year after i'd cleaned it and the rest were taken last week once all work complete. You can see from the photos of the dials I have done about 400miles in 10months! https://flic.kr/s/aHsmiNFnuf Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge |
