Hi all
some of you might remember the long 5 year haul I had with my last project which was a Bali blue 90 NAS copy from a ex farm wreck! Ive since sold it and got married soon after in Kos earlier this month which was amazing! now Im back and I purchased this latest project for £3500, Last owner was a nice old school landy guy who owned it for 15 years in Ashford Kent. I took a punt and went down on the train and drove it the 220miles back to South Wales! Ran like a Swiss watch at 70mph all the way home, everything works even the heater and even has a Sun roof! Im not going to hide the fact I bought this to get her back to her former glory and then sell her on 
It needs a full service inc cambelt, door bottoms need repair sections and rear door needs replacing but a new door was included! Chassis is solid needs a good wire brush and Buzzweld coating but is all solid with a new rear cross member fitted about 1500 miles ago. Body work is dent free just needs a expert detail on the paintwork after I've sorted the various spots of corrosion and also a new capping and get it all painted to match the rest. Bulkhead all solid and interior is mint! Once I've done the repairs and service I plan to add some black sawtooth alloys on maybe some Goodyear MTR's as per standard, renew the county stickers, maybe LED lights all round and thats about all I'm doing to it. Removed the roof rack and ladder

That's what I thought as well. Standard equipment on that will look a lot better. By the way I like the patina on the drivers mirror 😁

That looks like a quick turn over, Just put new tyres on, and repair the doors and give those end caps a seeing too, and that's it. I wouldn't really spend anymore on it looking at her. Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back

She's got various spots of ally corrosion, want to sort those out and also needs a full service but having said that she did 220 miles from kent no trouble

Looks a good buy on the surface, that bulkhead looks new! I'm in the back to original camp too, but personal choice. Good luck. James

Wow. More people saying keep it original.
I'm glad that things may be changing. IMO, original 300tdi's with evidence of good servicing and all bodywork issues sorted out properly, are going to be the vehicles to have (if they're not already). Absolutely right to replace the faded decals - if the original style and colour are available. One danger I can see though: When it's finished, you may want to keep it!  |

Nice little find, I'd be tempted to lose that checker plate and tidy up the bodywork if try keep her original as possible 😎
