Hi Yan
I would love to, but currently I'm living in Wales and the Landy is still in South Africa I'll ask the family she is parked with if they can have a look for anymore markings (could take a week or 3 though). Apologies for missing your previous question, about the original pipe. That one is in a box in storage in Johannesburg. Did a quick look through my photo library, and found these... Hi Jason,
Thanks for that. Looks like 1\2 and that seems to match up with what I measured today. Found a company in the UK that can get everything together for about £100 including a spare filter and all fittings etc. Cheers Yan Last edited by Yannis on 11th Jun 2019 10:28pm. Edited 1 time in total |

Good Job...
With the current exchange rate, it's about the same price, without the postage from SA. Hoping to get mine over here in the next 18 months. Biggest worry is secure parking! Completely shocked at how many are stolen/abused on this island... Your bringing your Defender North, and we are taking ours South....
November we start a 6 month trip; Milan - Capetown, hence fitting another fuel filter. P.s, May 2020 there might be space for an extra Defender in our container; SA - EU |

Hi Jason.... Hoping for some advice/help... We recently did a trip out into the Desert here in Australia and I ended up having problems with a bad batch of fuel. From what we could determine, something was blocking the fuel pickup when i got down to a certain level. We tried disconnecting the fuel hose at the OEM Filter in a hope that we could blow air back up through the fuel line to blow clear what ever was blocking the fuel pickup. I tried for a while to remove the fuel Quick-fit connection but could not and I ended up breaking the small blue clip that I since found out that u are suppose to push inwards instead of outwards. I'm assuming to fix/replace this connecter that I now have to replace the whole fuel line hose between the tank and filter ?? I'm now wanting to either replace the OEM filter with something better that has a buit-in primer or if I cannot do that, then install a 2nd Aux fuel filter which had a primer as well. The problem here in Aust is finding those Fuel line Fittings; the hose Barbs and also finding out the actual size of the OEM Nylon Fuel Hose. Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated Rob Cheers..... Rob 1995 Defender Tdi 110Wgn 2010 Defender PUMA 110Wgn TRIPS: Meanderingdownunder WikiLoc Trips |
