2008 Defender 90 Puma 2.2 CSW Chawton White

INDICATOR FLASHER UNIT

Good Afternoon Forum

I have an intermittent fault on the direction indicators in my 08 registered Defender 90. Occasionally they will "hang: (i.e. just stay permanently on and not flash). This happens with both the left and right indicators. In this "hung" condition the hazard mode setting also has all the indicator permanently lights on. Having cancelled the indicator and then operating it again a couple of times clears the problem - usually.

This would seem to be a problem with the indicator flasher unit. My questions are:

1. Where is the flasher unit located in a Defender 90?
2. Is it easily accessible? (i.e. Accessible in 5 mins or does it need a couple of hours to remove fascia panels?)
3. Where is a good place to buy a replacement unit?

As it affects the indicators and the hazards it would seem to be the flasher unit.

PRC8876/YWT500050/YWT10002L are the original part numbers. Genuine is ~£45+VAT, aftermarket ones a lot less (less than £10 inc VAT)

Same on my 08 earlier this year, just changed the flasher unit all ok now.

check the solder joint in the indicator unit
