Bluest,
Usually I convert the gpx to KML or KMZ and made the mods in google earth, then move again to gpx. Modify in google earth is quite easy, just select the route and modify the points needed Several online converters are available in the web Cheers Eduardo MY 2007 110 SW PUMA 2.4: Big Fog of 64' MY 1994 Jayco 1207 Folding camper: "El Tremendo" Click image to enlarge |

Hi Eduardo, thanks for the tip. i have managed to convert my file to .KML and uploaded it to Google Earth for Chrome. I can't use the Google Earth Desktop App as the Mac version is not current and continually crashes. I can see on Google Earth my track (in red) and waypoints (pins), but I can't work out how to make any changes to it. Can you offer any more advice? 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

For simple .gpx file editing the EasyGPS is easy to use. (https://www.easygps.com/). Thereafter you can upload to GPS units, open in other programmes etc.

I forgot the MAC Issue...
A work around will be (if you have the coordinates that you like to change as you stated) open the KML file as a text file. You will find there the coordinates that compound the track in plain text after the text <coordinates>. You can change manually and save the file for future use. Not the best way but works. http://www.mygpsfiles.com/app/ Both are free, browser based, and allow you to import, edit and export gpx files. |

I also overlooked the MAC requirement. I cannot help much beyond a web search. I guess that you have done that already so good luck & I hope that you find a good solution.

I have the same set up as you.. Macbook pro and an Android tablet in the Landy.
On the Mac I use Garmin BaseCamp software to plan, edit, import and export gpx files. It also links directly with Google Earth so you can select a route you have imported or created and view it in Google Earth. There are lots of free Maps available on the Web that can be installed into it too. Once I have created a route I export the gpx route from BaseCamp into my OneDrive folder so its accesible from my android tablet. On the Android Tablet I use an App called Locus Maps Pro. A great App that I can load gpx files into and then follow when I am on the trail. It is very accurate and I also use this for recording tracks as I explore. You can download Maps offline for most countries from the Locus Map store for a few pounds so its good value too. Hope this helps but give us a shout if you need any more info. Cheers Simon |

The problem I’ve had with Garmin Basecamp is I can’t install the map I downloaded (an OSM one from Garmin). The Installer doesn’t seem to do anything. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

If you want a solution for both mac and windows then have a look at QGIS. It is freeware. It is the equivalent of ARCGIS if you know it.
https://www.qgis.org/en/site/ Although I have not done it, it will allow for the import of Garmin OSM data (via a pluggin) and the editing of GPX point data. The other option is GPS Utility which will pretty much open edit and save any GPS data. But only in windows. http://www.gpsu.co.uk/download.html Another is TwoNav which will do what you want on Windows and Mac as well. The Land software is very good and has an app for your phone or ipad. https://www.twonav.com/en/software |

Thanks for all the input I need to take a few days to go through the options suggested to see what might work for me. Will report back. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS
