How to Mount Awning on G4 Style Roof Rack?
I’m looking for ideas how to mount my ARB awning onto the side of the factory Land Rover G4 style roof rack? It would be nice if there are purpose made brackets available? What solutions have other members come up with please?

I had used a 90’ bracket that I secured under 2 of the cross members of the rack with U-bolt before having my pop top fitted - it worked very well and held the 270’ Tuftreck awing securely.
The awing was able to be positioned in the right place for use with ease.
Sadly I don't have any photos though

I’m not too sure if your awning uses T bolts but maybe you can adapt the Rhino Rack Foxwing tubular brackets. This up is what I used to attach my Foxwing to our Land Rover Tubular roof rack.

Speak to Brendan at 4x4 Overlander ax he may be able to give you further advice.

I used 3 flat metal plates fixed them to the awning with the T bolts and then fixed the plates the rack with P clips. Works well as it does not involve drilling holes in either rack or awning. I’ll take some photos and post at the weekend.

Photo showing bracket fixed to awning, then bracket fixed to rack with P clips. Front bracket needs to be a bit smaller as shape of rack different near front.

P-clips to hold the weight of the awning and then some L-brackets to stop it twisting.

Stole some of the rubber strips from spare p-clips so that the jubilee clips don't dig into the paintwork. I'm sure the wood packing was just a temporary solution but I no longer have any plans to change this set up! Rolling with laughter

Interesting idea Roger. Could you use some P clips in the top track and going around the vertical roof rack bars?

Brendan, I like that idea. Not sure the p-clips would be so good as they might just twist as they pull away from the vertical bar. Some 'U' shaped versions of the same thing fixed on either side would work well though Thumbs Up
It would certainly look neater than the current set up, might well do that if I ever actually get round to taking the awning off for any reason.

Roger how about some saddle clips, typically used on 15/22mm copper pipe but am sure with some searching could find some larger heavy duty steel ones.

On our static roof tent display which is made from scaffold poles we use steel builders banding strip around the poles to keep some wooden elements in place. Just another idea.
