Amond,
Have a look at them and you can form your own opinion. In my own opinion the Safari's I saw didn't rely on a seal against the wing and replaced the inner pipe work - less joins = less chance of a leak. I liked the look of it less but thought it the better product. It also depends on what you want it for? to look good or for wading etc. Everyone will have different criteria. That said - I haven't bought one yet - as 99% of the time I don't seem to go in water that a bow wave can't cope with (Though I have moved my ECU - and coat most of my electrical connectors in white grease). I do twitch about a snorkel every now and then though, as I have had a few 'moments'. So don't just go of other people's opinions - look into it until you can form your own based on your own criteria. |

"In my own opinion the Safari's I saw didn't rely on a seal against the wing" Do you mean externally like K9's?
Latest Safari model here http://www.safarisnorkel.com/snorkel/ss581hf/ss581hf.htm has no pipe work connection etc and is sealed by gasket to the wing It is different to the older model in the previous diagram! I fitted mine about 3 weeks ago and I can't see any water getting passed the gasket Fitting instruction here using gasket and sealant http://www.safarisnorkel.com/snorkel/ss1130hf/ss1130hf_guide.htm |

I would rather go for what the manufacturer is saying not a trader but if people have fitted them in the past then no problem but £270 ouch! Got mine for £200 - through Devon 4x4. Paddocks offered me the price first. Sure someone was advertising them for £197 in latest LRO mag

I do like the look of the Mantec snorkle and cant really comment on its performance...
I have a Safari snorkel fitted to my TD5 for around 5 years and it's shown no signs of tarnishing on the plastic etc. Good wearer, nice tight seals and I like the open mouthed styling: Click image to enlarge Bought mine brand new from ebay (private seller) for £90... don't give up... keep an eye out.
