I'm not sure at my age my eyes could deal with a 3.5 inch screen. The Yorkshireman in me certainly couldn't handle the price tag. Defender 90XS SW

I managed to find that other unit referred to earlier in the thread, its a "Redyon RY403" and sells for about €80-100 so I think we can deduce the quality of that unit.......... seems unavailable anyway.

Just to restart this thread, I bought one at a decent discount and fitted this week. This is the Kramer unit as made for various OEM's.
It came with the standard two ISO plugs rather than one that links to the main grey block. Anyway Mudstuff to the rescue with a quick 24hr delivery of an adaptor lead. It was pain to tuck all the connector blocks, GPS receiver, Microphone out of the way with no room for fingers behind - but thats not unique to this unit. It really does look good, quality of controls is excellent. It's great to have DAB, and can USB or BT stream from my phone, calls are fine and phone book transfer was quick. Thorny subject of screen size - I find the graphics absolutely fine, large font for radio/music and phone and most of the operations can be either touch screen or from the turn and select RH knob. Nav is a bit small but perfectly useable, partic if you have voice commands on too One downside is that there is no sub- output, so I need to get a splitter box, to revive the Alpine sub-dog Overall pretty happy Click image to enlarge 2015 90 XS SW Bowler 1998 TD5 CSW |

I like that a lot, it looks very clean. I think Dan was selling the LR unit for about £900. I’ll add it to the list of jobs to get done.....aircon, sound insulation, trip to Zagato,

I have had mine a few weeks now and love it
DAB reception with the standard aerial is actually better than on my other car from the other JLR stable I have found one downside - on the first sunny day since installation If wearing Polarised Sunglasses the SatNav screen goes Black - have to tilt your head to see it - but with voice commands you don't need to watch screen Click image to enlarge |

Orchard - you say a decent price, but if you don't mind us asking...how much is decent. And from whom? Dan at Duckworths has offered £900, so a good discount off retail.

I had a PM reply from Orchard. Fair enough. If anyone else interested I would point them in Dan’s direction.

I am interested in installing one of these systems in my 2013 XS. However it appears to only have outputs for 4 speakers and no sub woofer connection. What additional equipment do I need to effectively integrate the existing LR Alpine sub woofer?

Basically a 12v feed for the sub woofer and splice into one of the output channels. Any car audio place should have a neat splitter box, or easy DIY...... 2015 90 XS SW Bowler
