Mine will (hopefully) be going in for paintwork under warranty on the windscreen frame in the next few weeks.

Can anyone tell me what is involved in removing the windscreen frame? Does the roof have to be removed or lifted and does the headlining have to be detached?

Also, has anyone had any paintwork done through Duckworths, Market Rasen and which bodyshop do they use? Defender 90XS SW

Yes, roof loosened and lifted a bit so the windscreen frame can be tilted or lifted forward (it can't be pulled straight "out" as there's 2 upright pins on the bulkhead that locate in the bottom of the frame)

I was cleaning out my 90 over the weekend and was shocked to find some bubbling from under the pain near the alpine roof and the roof joint. Havent noticed anythign around the windscreen frame but I think I'll be taking a good look in the next few days. Anyone has luck getting this type of corrosion fixed under warranty?

I am a bit worried reading the comments from LR in the earlier page stating it needs to be perforated. Surely that is way too late to fix it!

I had the same corrosion around the alpine windows on mine and highlighted it at the year 5 inspection.
It took months for the dealer to get approval from JLR but it was fully repaired in the end.
They also replaced the windscreen surround due to corrosion.
In both areas there wasn't actually any perforation. Just rust and bubbling.

Agree with the above comments, mine was only showing bubbling and it sailed through the warranty approval process without any issues.

It might be worth finding out who your local dealer use for their body shop repairs, (assuming it's not them) I found out that I can go direct to my local approved body shop and they will also deal with the warranty claim directly for me, save's the hassle of going through the dealer who are often just middle men who like to add time and often confusion into the mix.

Going through the dealer my claim was all sorted from reporting it to getting the car fixed in a 6 weeks time frame and that included the shutdown over Christmas and New Year.

Thanks for the replies. I called my dealer and spoke to a guy in the body shop. He said I had to bring the car over as they need to take photo/video and send it on to LR for approval. Its not really in their hands they said so I need to make a spot at the dealer in the next few days. I'll update on how I get on.

Good morning all. My MY16 110 is now no longer going to a main dealer for servicing as I have an excellent independent LR specialist local to me. Do I still require to have an annual corrosion warranty check carried out at the main dealer to maintain this warranty and if I do, what should I be paying for it?
FYI, Harwoods didn't really understand what I was looking for when I contacted them.
Thanks.

My MY14 has never had a main dealer service to the best of my knowledge and never had an annual corrosion inspection and neither came up in conversation when going through the process for my corrosion work.
